FOREVER YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL

In recent years the U.S. government research on the prevention of aging has produced dramatic, surprising, encouraging results. After a USDA study was completed on aging, scientists were asked what was something that could be done about aging. They all agreed that lifting weights was the most logical answer.

As the average life span increases, most Americans will need help in the last 20 years of their life. We will lose about 30 percent of our strength and 40 percent of our muscle size as we age. This is the major reason exercise, in addition to lifting weights is so important for all of us.

EXERCISE BENEFITS

Physical exercise will improve your mental and physical health. Some of the benefits of aerobic exercise include improved cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength and flexibility. Exercise will pump more blood into you veins. This causes the size of your arteries to increase, preventing fat from clogging your arteries, and helps prevent blood clots. A strong heart works less, reducing the chance of a heart attack. Daily exercise increases you HDL (good) cholesterol and helps lower your total cholesterol. Exercise will lower your blood pressure. You will start to feel your lungs working properly, when you are not out of breath doing simple daily activities. Muscles become small and inelastic when they are not used, but aerobic exercise will help tone your body by increasing muscle size, strength and flexibility while burning calories. Do you want to alleviate stress? Exercise will help reduce or eliminate stress in your life. It is important to make exercise part of your daily routine.

According to the Surgeon General, a good exercise routine includes at least 30 minutes of moderate physical exercise several days of the week. Regular aerobic exercise will help your body use oxygen more efficiently so your heart, lungs, and muscles will be stronger and healthier. Some popular aerobic exercises include brisk walking, jogging, bicycling, swimming, and aerobic dance.

The following is an effective exercise routine:

  • warm up 3 to 5 minutes
  • A warm up will increase your heart rate and the blood flow to the heart and muscles preparing them for exercise. To warm up, do the activity you have chosen at a slower pace for about 5 minutes.
  • aerobic activity
  • 5 to 10 minutes at first gradually increasing to 30 to 60 minutes. Aerobic means using oxygen. Aerobic exercise uses oxygen to burn calories for energy. You should exercise within your target heart rate zone.
  • cool down 3 to 5 minutes
  • Cooling down allows your heart rate, breathing and blood pressure to return to normal. It also prevents blood from pooling in your working muscles, returns it to your heart and brain, and prepares your body for stretching. To cool down, decrease your activity to a slower pace for about 5 minutes.
  • stretching 5 to 10 minutes
  • Stretching will improve your flexibility, decrease muscle soreness and help you relax. Stretch your major muscle groups, the muscles you were using for your exercise. Stretch in a relaxed, controlled manner. Hold each stretch for 20 to 30 seconds. Do not bounce. Never stretch to a point of feeling pain.

Exercise produces the following number of benefits:

  • improve cardiovascular fitness
  • improve muscle endurance
  • increase in energy
  • reduce the risk of coronary artery disease
  • may help lower blood pressure
  • may help lower cholesterol levels
  • aid in weight control
  • may even give self esteem a measurable boost
  • may increase sense of well being

You can achieve health and fitness benefits at any age, exercise or at least staying physically active appears to be even more important as we get older. Exercise may minimize or even eliminate some of the problems of aging such as, increased body fat, decreased muscular strength, and flexibility, loss of bone mass, lower metabolism, and slower reaction times.

Fitness is defined as the ability to carry out daily tasks with vigor and alertness, without undue fatigue, and with ample energy to enjoy leisure time pursuits and to meet unforeseen emergencies. Physical fitness means different things to different people. A runner and a weight lifter have too completely different definition meanings when the term fitness is discussed. Fitness is a relative term, meaning there is no clear definition, as to say a person is fit or not fit. A fit weight lifter may not be a fit runner. Exercise is the only way to reach your fitness goal.

The four basic elements of physical fitness are cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, muscular strength, and flexibility. Each can be measurably improved with regular exercise. Exercising to build fitness fitness is not the same thing as working out to improve athletic performance. you must incorporate all four basic elements to be considered truly fit.

TRAINING HEART RATE

In order to achieve a training effect, the American College of Sports Medicine suggests performing aerobic aerobic exercise sessions of fifteen to sixty minutes a day, three to five days a week. Furthermore, to get the most from aerobic exercise, you should exercise at a level of intensity called your training heart rate. The easiest way to compute this is to subtract your age from 220, that is your maximum heart rate, then take 60 percent and 80 percent of that number. The results are the upper and lower end of your target heart rate zone: while you exercise, your heart rate per minute should fall somewhere between these two numbers.

EXERCISE AND WEIGHT CONTROL

Daily physical activity is an important part of effective weight control. It helps to control your weight by using excess calories that otherwise would be stored as fat. Exercise also helps prevent many diseases and improve your overall health.

A person's weight is determined by the number of calories you eat each day minus what your body uses. Everything you eat contains calories, and everything you do uses calories, including sleeping, breathing, and digesting food. All physical activity in addition to what you normally do will burn those extra calories.

Balancing the number of calories you expend through exercise and physical activity with the calories you eat will help you achieve your desired weight. The key to successful weight control and improved overall health is making physical activity a part of your daily routine.

SOME MORE HEALTH BENEFITS OF EXERCISE

  • Heart Disease and Stroke. Regular physical activity can help prevent heart disease and stroke by strengthening your heart muscle, lowering your blood pressure, raising your HDL (good cholesterol) and lowering LDL (bad cholesterol), improving blood flow, and increasing your heart's working capacity.
  • High Blood Pressure. Daily exercise reduces blood pressure in people with high blood pressure (hypertension).
  • Diabetes. By reducing body fat, physical activity can help to prevent and control type 2 diabetes.
  • Back Pain. By increasing muscle strength and endurance and improving flexibility and posture, regular exercise can prevent back pain.
  • Osteoporosis. Regular weight bearing exercise promotes bone formation and may prevent many forms of bone loss associated with aging.
  • Daily physical activity can also improve mood and the way you feel about yourself. Exercise is likely to reduce depression and anxiety and help you to better manage stress.
  • Aerobic exercise is any activity involving large muscles, done for an extended period of time. Aerobic exercise can be done for weight loss, but it also provides cardiovascular benefits. Examples of aerobic exercise include walking, biking, jogging, swimming, aerobic classes, and cross country skiing, just to name a few.
  • Anaerobic exercise usually refers to resistance training. Anaerobic exercise is done primarily for increased muscle mass. Weight training is a form of anaerobic exercise.
  • Moderate Intensity Activities accumulating 30 minutes of activity over the course of the day can result in substantial health benefits. Some examples include a short walk around the block, raking leaves, take stairs, mow the lawn, play with kids, and take activity breaks to stretch out or exercise.
  • Exercising may help you look better, also. People who exercise burn calories and look more toned than those who do not work out. Exercise is one of the most important parts of keeping your body at a healthy weight. when you exercise, you burn food calories as fuel. When a person eats more calories than he or she burns, the body stores them away as fat. Exercise will help burn these stored calories.
  • The heart is not the only muscle to benefit from regular exercise, most of the muscles in your body benefit from exercise also. When you use your muscle and they become stronger, it allows you to be active for longer periods of time without getting worn out. Strong muscles are are a plus because they actually help protect you when you exercise by supporting your joints and helping to prevent injuries. Muscle also burns more energy when a person's at rest than fat does, so building your muscles will help you burn more calories and maintain a healthy weight.
  • Exercise also helps the body stay flexible, meaning that your muscles and joints stretch and bend easily. People who are flexible can worry less about strained and sprains. Flexibility can also help improve a person's sports performance.
  • It is possible to overdose on exercise. Working out is a great way to maintain a healthy weight, exercising too much to lose weight is not healthy. The body needs enough calories to function properly. Exercising too much in an effort to burn calories and lose weight can be a sign of an eating disorder. DRUGS VS. HEALTH

Pharmaceutical companies do not want you to know about the synthetic drug dangers and the natural alternative medicines that could destroy their $400 billion a year empire.

FACT: It has been estimated that fatalities directly attributable to adverse drug reactions are the fourth to sixth leading cause of death in United States hospitals, exceeding deaths caused by pneumonia and diabetes.

FACT: The American Medical Association, Federal Trade Commission, the Food and Drug Administration, and the pharmaceutical cartels are suppressing information about natural remedies, alternative medicine and natural cures for virtually every disease.

FACT: One vitamin supplier in Scandinavia was pursued by the police for supplying vitamin c tablets that exceeded 200mg. In other words, the amount of vitamin c contained in three oranges made this supplier a criminal. The possession of a popular supplement called DHEA, in Canada now attracts the same penalties as crack cocaine. The Canadian regulator is now able to classify any substance as a drug, even if it is a food that has been safely consumed for millions of years. They may legally recall or remove the product.

FACT: The pharmaceutical companies are trying to either get all natural medicines that are effective in treating disease taken off the market or or make them available through them with a prescription only. They know once you find out that there are natural medicines that will heal you in a couple of months, then you will not need their expensive drugs with numerous side effects.

FACT: Pharmaceutical companies only care about their profits and not people's health. Think about it. Why do we keep hearing about vaccine shortages and government having to pay pharmaceutical companies to produce something that can actually save lives? It is because you only need to take a vaccine once a year at most. There is no money in that for them compared to a treatment for a chronic condition such as diabetes. The diagnosing, treatment, and testing of diabetes brings in over $10 million dollars every single hour of the day to doctors, pharmaceutical companies, and testing supply businesses. Imagine what they stand to lose if word spreads about a natural cure for diabetes and they do not have control of it.

FACT: Modern science in the past few years, has been finding numerous natural medicine products to cure diseases. Scientists have discovered how to dramatically increase the potency of natural ingredients used for thousands of years in treating specific ailments through the science of molecular bonding. The resulting formations act at the cellular level to attack the root cause of the disease and this is why they are so effective vs. drugs which merely mask the symptoms. In addition, because they are created with all natural ingredients they have none of the dangerous side effects of synthetic drugs.

FACT: Pr oven natural remedies and powerful alternative medicines do exist. There are natural remedies for diabetes, high cholesterol, gout, high blood pressure, IBS digestive orders, and weight loss, just to name a few. We better take advantage of these natural remedies, before the government makes them illegal, and puts everyone in jail that possesses or uses them.

    ABOUT HOLISTIC MEDICINE

Holistic Medicine is a system of health care which fosters a cooperative relationship among all those involved, leading towards optimal attainment of the physical, mental emotional, social and spiritual aspects of health.

It emphasizes the need to look at the whole person, including analysis of physical, nutritional, environmental, emotional, social, spiritual, and lifestyle values. It encompasses all stated modalities of diagnosis and treatment including drugs and surgery if no safe alternative exists. Holistic medicine focuses on education and responsibility for personal efforts to achieve balance and well being.

    HOLISTIC MEDICINE TERMS

Alternative medicine is often used by the general public and some health care practitioners to refer to medical techniques which are not known or accepted by the majority conventional or allopathic medical practitioners. These techniques could include non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical techniques such as Medical herbalism, Acupuncture, Homeopathy, reiki, and numerous others. The term Alternative Medicine may also refer to any experimental drug or non-drug technique that is not currently accepted by conventional medical practitioners, As non-invasive , non-pharmaceutical techniques become popular ans accepted by large number of conventional practitioners, these techniques will no longer be considered alternative medicine.

Complementary Medicine is often used by conventional medical practitioners to refer to non-invasive, non pharmaceutical techniques used as a complement to conventional medical treatments such as drugs and surgery. The term implies that conventional medicine is used as a primary tool and the non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical techniques are used as a supplement when needed.

Natural healing usually refers to the use of non-invasive and non-pharmaceuticals techniques to help heal the patient. When most people use the term natural Healing, they are usually referring to physical healing techniques only.

Acupuncture is a part of traditional Chinese medicine. The word acupuncture is derived from the Latin words for needle (acus) and prick (pungere) and the therapy is exactly what the name suggests. Acupuncture is a technique of inserting and manipulating needles at specific points ; a process which the proponents profess can relieve pain and cure a disease.

CONTROL ANXIETY WITH DIET AND HERBS

The first thing you should eliminate from your diet to reduce chances of an anxiety disorder is caffeine. You will need to reduce the intake of coffee, tea, and soft drinks. It may be a good idea to switch over to decaffeinated coffee and soft drinks. Medical research has shown that in most cases, eliminating coffee alone may be a solution for anxiety relief. Anxiety disorders are linked to hypoglycemia as well and so those who are prone to low blood sugar levels should ensure that they reduce the consumption of simple sugars and replace them with whole grains.

Herbs like kava-kava and valerian roots have been used for numerous years. Kava, a native to Polynesia, has been used to treat insomnia, anxiety, and tension. It has been shown to promote relaxation without affecting mental alertness. Clinically tested Kava has been shown to be effective for the treatment of anxiety disorders using a dose of 300 mg Kava extract per day.the herb valerian also works as a tranquilizer.

    CONTROL DEPRESSION WITH HERBS

Many people who are tired of prescription antidepressants with side effects, are turning to natural remedies to fight depression. St. John's Wort is an herbal supplement that has been able to outsell prescription antidepressant medications in numerous countries. St. john's Wort is believed to boost serotonin levels in the brain, naturally lifting spirits and alleviating feelings of depression.

Passion flower, ginko biloba, and kava kava are also natural supplements that are known to treat depression. Consult a doctor before beginning or ending any prescription medication. If you decide to treat the depression, with natural supplements, just remember to give them time to work. Patience and perseverance will lead you to a healthier and happier life.
